Profile and history
Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear (CSUK) changed its name from Maharishi Vedic University (MVU), since 2008. The main Campus is located in Kamchaymear District in the Prey Veng province, about 108 Km east of Phnom Penh. The university provides Education to rural youth who would not otherwise have access to higher education and it seeks to train a new generation of leaders free from the stress, fears and corruption that have been the legacy of Cambodia’s recent history. CSUK is a public higher education institution administered by the Ministry of Education of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Over 250 volunteers have worked with AACF in Cambodia over the last 12 years. The majority of AACF volunteers teach undergraduate management or agriculture students at Maharishi Vedic University. Lessons are taught in Khmer language with volunteers teaching through a translator. We take a smaller number of non-teaching volunteers in a broad range of roles, including administration, infrastructure development, running extra-curricular activities for students and curriculum development. We are flexible on the length of term but are more interested in volunteers who can stay for longer periods. Conditions in Cambodia are peaceful and secure. Living conditions at the university are basic but comfortable. AACF provides all basic living expenses including accommodation on site (no airconditioning), all meals, laundry service, postage costs, and travel allowances where necessary. We are currently offering a recognized two-year Master Degree in the following fields:

- Master of Agricultural Science (MASc)
